So last month, I took part in an impromptu drive to the coast. While settling on music to listen to, one person suggested Tom Waits, to which I gave a little, "Woo hoo!", and to which someone else (the driver, and the primary instigator of the trip itself) said, "Tom Waits. Isn't he country?"

Needless to say, I and most of the other folks in the car were aghast at that claim (although I had to point out that yes, he does technically do some songs now and again that would firmly be in the 'Country' category) and it sparked the idea of my making a CD sampler of Tom Waits for this person.

At first, I was rather daunted since I knew I'd be hating myself for "Oh, I can't forget this one" and constantly revising it, so when I finally got all my CDs together and uploaded to my computer this week, I decided to go with one song per album, in chronological order, and do what I can with that to demonstrate his non-country-ness, to hit the few songs that I consider "must have"s, and to demonstrate the general diversity of Tom's songs.

For his 50th birthday (50 and foxy, baby), I present a special collection of 50 pics of my man, the White House Chief of Staff and of Sexy, Mr. Rahm Emanuel!

Phewwww. Half of this is for challenges and stuff, half of this is from the last three eps and a part is pure crack to be purely blamed on hopelessfangirl. Right. No, it's also my fault. For explanations beyond icons 58/65, look here and then it won't be too obscure. I can do totally horrendous, and totally horrendous has done me. That's not really a commentary on the artwork in this strip as I rather like the scratchy foot puppy in panel one, the mountaineer puss in panel two, and the wise shaky tail puss in panel three. That's not really a commentary on the art, either.

Why do we never discuss films of Clive?
Clive is actor - puzzle. His characters are often very complex, multi-layered and whose true essence is hidden deep inside. Therefore many of his films have been underestimated by critics and even his most loyal fans.
Yes, I have in mind primarily the film "Derailed".

Do you think - Charlie Schine is a good guy?
My opinion: he is the greatest evil in this film.
You can disagree with me, but I'll try to explain later why I think so.
